Crowns

Dental crowns, sometimes referred as “caps”, are fixtures fitted over an existing tooth that has been reduced in size using a dental drill. A crown is often needed to stabilize a cracked tooth, a tooth broken down by decay, or a tooth that has previously been treated with a root canal filling. Sometimes crowns are installed as a cosmetic procedure to improve aesthetics in the front of the mouth.

Most of the crowns we make for our patients are tooth-colored crowns made of a material called zirconium. We also at times will make crowns out of porcelain and gold depending on the needs and preferences of our patients.
